NPA calls on holdout groups to heed president Kiir call for Peace

National Parties Alliance (NPA) has urged the holdout opposition groups to note president Salva Kiir call for Peace process in the country.

In a statement seen by this outlet on Thursday, the NPA called on all holdout groups, to join the implementation of the Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS).

“The National Parties Alliance (NPA) welcomes the recent address by His Excellency Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of South Sudan, during the opening of Parliament where he emphasized the need for peace and called on all holdout opposition groups to join the peace process,” it partly read.

The political party recognized President Kiir commitment to implementation of R-ARCSS

“We commend President Kiir for his commitment to achieving peace in our country and agree that the inclusion of all stakeholders in the peace process is crucial for a sustainable and lasting peace. In line with this, we would like to express our support for his call and reaffirm our dedication to achieving peace in South Sudan,” it stated.

The NPA underscored the importance of its refrainment from recent clashes during fallout of Tumaini Agreement in Nairobi Kenya.

“This decision was made in the interest of promoting peace and stability in the country, and we believe that the President’s call for unity and inclusivity in the peace process aligns with our own goals and priorities,” it added.

The NPA remain committed to working towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict in South Sudan and look forward to engaging in constructive discussions with all stakeholders to achieve these Humanitarian Crisis, Economic Development, Social Cohesion, Rule of Law and International Relations goals.

According to Nyanthon Deng Rou, Chairperson of the National Parties Alliance (NPA) And Chairperson of South Sudan United Front and Army / National Inclusive Movement (SSUF/A-NIM, stipulated that the political party agreed on resolution.

“We recognize and value his initiative. It has been a considerable duration since we engaged in a sustained national dialogue focused on peace, and we aim to support his efforts,” Deng said.

Deng emphasized that, “We encourage the establishment we’ve developed to streamline processes, particularly when we encounter similar narratives”.
