President Salva Kiir Mayardit has left Juba for Dubai on invitation of the United Arab Emirates government.
According to the Office of the President, Kiir is expected to hold bilateral talks with the UAE government and also attend the Dubai expo.
“His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic has today (Friday, 18th February 2022) left for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to attend the Dubai Expo at the invitation of the Government of UAE,” the Presidency said in a statement.
“On his three-day working visit, H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit is expected to participate in Dubai Expo 2020, and hold bilateral discussions with the leaders of United Arab Emirates,” the statement added.
Kiir was accompanied by the Presidential Advisor on Security, Presidential Affairs Minister, Foreign Minister, Minister of Finance, Minister of Culture, Minister of Wildlife Conservation, and the Director of External Security.
Kiir was seen off at Juba International Airport by the First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny and a number of government officials.
