Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) party in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State has one million members (1,000,000) that’s according to the State SPLM interim chairman in Aweil, Tong Akeen Ngor.
He disclosed the number that his party had mobilized in the NBGS Aweil, during the two days First regular sitting of the interim State Liberation Council under the theme: “Unity and Peace For a Robust SPLM”.
Addressing the party event in Aweil town, the SPLM Interim chairman in NBGS, Tong Akeen Ngor confirmed registration of one million (1,000,000) members and appreciated the state liberation council for the job well done in the name of peace championships President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Friday.
The Interim chairman Tong Akeen stressed that no doubt the members of the state liberations council are capable of successfully executing their tasks assigned to them by the party.
He called on the members of liberation council to support the implementation of the Revitalized Peace Agreement on conflict resolution in the republic of South Sudan and work for the peace, unity and progress of the great historical party.
Akeen assured the members of state liberation council that the SPLM in Northern Bahr el Ghazal has successfully completed the reorganization or restructuring of the party in the state, counties, payam and Boma levels.
He also added that SPLM in Northern Bahr el Ghazal has completed formation of leagues such as women, Youth, Disable leagues among other leagues.
He further stated that the membership registration review process is going on well in the counties and Municipal councils which will prepare the SPLM party for the upcoming general elections, adding that the projected members of the party in the state are 1, 198,344 where more than 1,000,000 members have been confirm registered.
However, the Northern Bahr el Ghazal governor and SPLM State Interim chairman urged his party members in NBGS to deliberately discuss the agenda of the meeting with the spirit of comradeship and with aim of promoting the objectives, missions and vision of the SPLM party in the State.
