Government sympathizes with citizens amid ailing economy

The Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity (R-TGONU) has sounded words of pity to the citizens over the continuous economic challenges facing the Country saying that they are concerned with the situation and promised to mitigate it.

Speaking to the media after the council of Ministers meeting on Friday, information minister andofficial government spokesperson, Michael Makuei Lueth said seeing the citizens suffering is seeing the nation broken apart.

He said that the authority has noticed the persistent depreciation of the local currency against the United States dollars noting that the situation has indeed pinched most families by affecting their standard of living.

“We have the knowledge concerning the economic downfall, if citizens are affected, why not us in the government. We are also touched with the situation and hope for changes” Makuei said

He noted that there is need for the Country to improve productivity to fight food insecurity.

At the same note, Makuei also slammed the international organizations for being key contributors to South Sudan crisis saying they write bad reports about the Country making the United Nations Security Council to impose different sanctions especially those striking the economic.

“These organizations are the ones accusing us to the UN Security Council to spoil our names for their own gain,” he said

The government spokesperson claimed that the accusations they (organizations) make against South Sudan is to ensure that their term of operation is extended.

“They want South Sudan to continue fighting so that their terms are extended. They know that if the UN Security Council hears and notices that peace has prevailed, all of them will be withdrawn back to their Countries of Origin,” he added

Makuei moreover, echoed that South Sudan is peaceful and committed towards the implementation of the peace roadmap.

He said that South Sudan will not compromise any agency standing against its initiative stating that the Country will works for its peace and attain it amicably

Minister Makuei lamented that the government would not give the chance for external organization to gain in the name of South Sudan conflict and later proclaim rubbish in the name of term extension.
