Female singers’ concert ignites brawl of words

By Gladys Fred Kole

South Sudanese female artists are not leaving any stone unturned on their social media platforms after one singer, Lady Kola claimed to be bigger than the rest in the music arena in the country.

The fight of words on social media all started when Lady Kola reportedly decided to edited a banner advertising an all-female artists’ concert in Juba slotted for July 29.

She reportedly tried to enlarged her picture among her peers in the banner to appear big as if she the queen.

It is two days now ever since a poster surfaced on Facebook of the female artists that was meant to market their anticipated “female artists concert” slated to take place on the 29th of this month in Texas club Gudele.

Lady Kola however then posted a re-edited version of the original poster where her image clearly looked bigger than the rest.

“Yoo sankara family, come out in large numbers on the 29th of this month at club Texas i will be entertaining you alongside my girls, peace and love.” Lady Kola wrote to her fans on her Facebook page read

However Kola’s act prompted anger as this didn’t sit well with all the female artists who are part of the slated music concert that is yet to take place late this month.

Reacting to this brawls, Irene toss one of the female who felt belittled said “everyone involved in this concert posted one copy of the show which is the original but Kola posted calling us her girls”.

Ms. Toss stated that most of the divas started music and won awards way back before she (Lady Kola) was here and now why is Kola being disrespectful yet even the price was fixed for every one which was a sign of equality.

Lady kola then also rebutted the anger of the singers stating that she doesn’t beef with small girls and she’s the only one recognized and verified on social media among her colleagues.

Another female musician, Juna de Star, said she is disappointed with the way some people want to claim trophies they don’t deserve.

“It’s dumb and unethical for Kola to pick out the original poster to crop and magnify herself above us knowing fully well that every one of us has sacrificed a lot for this industry.”  Juna wrote.

“We all had an agreement and breaching of contracts like this is uncalled for so I’m not going to put a lot of energy to justify my worth” she added.

For her part Queen Zee blasted Lady Kola that her Facebook Blue tick can’t be eaten and that is why she is always begging.

“A lot of people hate listening to your songs, you only have dirty words in your songs that am afraid our children will get spoilt before reaching our age in-fact you are a disgrace to womanhood” she reduced Kola.

“We all shine differently and there’s more than enough space for all of us. Demeaning others isn’t in my DNA for me am rehearsing for that day I don’t want to disappoint my fans.” Another Diva Rebecca Trey, who is also on the poster wrote

Meanwhile Hani Breva responsibly exclaimed that she believes being big in the game isn’t determined by Facebook likes or followers but by what impact one has in the community.

Tasha K  the self-proclaimed general overseer of this saga, however said she is humbly requesting the organizers of the Female divas concert to make it a live band performance for everyone and “we see if smokers cannot collapse on stage”.

“Everyone is uniquely different in their own ways or styles of music, but that doesn’t make any of us better than each other, we are all proudly South Sudanese” wrote Talia Fisher.

“It’s always good to sit down and talk about Personal issues instead of bringing it on social media but don’t hurt someone” Fisher advised.

Meanwhile, the legendary singer Hadia Badi also concurs with Taska K that a live band would solve the situation at hand,

“I’m a mother watching her adolescent girl going wild knowing very well it’s going be a time bomb.

The purpose of the organized concert is to show peace, love and togetherness amongst the female divas.

The concert was an idea of Talia Fisher and Rebecca Trey with the help of promota Young P promotions.

Female artist slated to perform on the stage are Queen Zee, Irene toss, Lady Kola, Hadia Badi, Rebecca Trey, Hani Breva, Tasha K exodus, Juna and Talia fisher.
