South Sudan summons 34 players for AFCON qualifiers

South Sudan senior men’s football team, the Bright Stars, head coach Stefano Cusin, has summoned a provisional squad of thirty-four (34) players for the upcoming AFCON qualifier match in Bamako, Mali.

This was disclosed by the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) in a post on its Facebook page, as seen by this outlet yesterday.

Bright Stars head coach yesterday released his provisional 34-man squad list for the upcoming AFCON qualifier match with Mali.

The competition is scheduled for next month to be played in Bamako Stadium, Mali.

Meanwhile, coach Stefano stated that the team will also be having a friendly match with Kenya on the 12th of September in Nairobi.

The disclosed 34-man squad for the AFCON contender’s group stage match against Mali next month includes:

Majak Mawith (GK): Dandenong Thunder (Australia-based), Ramadan John (GK) – Malakia (Juba), Khamis Daniel (GK) – Atlabara (Juba), Anyama Joseph Luka (GK) – Arua Hill SC (Uganda), Lazarus Peter – Future Stars Academy (Juba), Wani Ivan Adebo – Bull Fc (Uganda), Peter Maker Manyang – Radnicki Srem (Serbia), Rashid

Others are: Ayom Majok – Brisbane Roar FC (Australia), Chol Peter – Al Naser FC (Sudan), Joseph Malesh – Al Mereikh (Sudan), Nevello Yoseke – Monterey Bay FC (USA), Atendeke Gerica – Arua Hill (Uganda), Ajak Riak – Bentleigh (Australia), Omot Sebit – Al Merreikh Juba (Juba), Ochaywak – Simba FC ( Juba),  Mario Taban – Future Stars Academy ( Juba),  Paul America – Rainbow FC (Ken), Rwothomio Innocent – Bul (Uganda), Ngong Madur KCCA (Uganda), Wani Shadrack Elisana – Malakia FC ( Juba),  Innocent Ronald Lucera Calcio (Italie), Ismael Remo Sampuli Mansuk –Ray of Grace (Ugandad – Future Stars Academy (Juba),

This assortment consisted of nine players playing in South Sudan’s local leagues, nine recalled from Uganda, three from Kenya and Australia, and others from different countries, including Italy, Canada, the USA, Serbia, and Malta.

Mali, which is set to host South Sudan, sits at the top of Group G.

However, South Sudan has already been confirmed out of the continental tournament, sitting at the bottom of group G with only three points from their last five games.
