Juba Electricity Distribution Company (JEDCO) has announced a partial load shedding due to the high temperatures.
JEDCO stated in a statement that, due to the current Juba weather conditions, the demand for electricity has exceeded the power generation capacity.
The electricity distributor reported that the interference from the temperatures has resulted in frequent power interruptions over the past few days between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.
“In order to maintain the available load and prevent a complete blackout, we have no choice but to implement partial load shedding between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. until the demand load is stable,” JEDCO expressed in the statement.
The power distributor apologized for the inconvenience the power blackout is likely to cause and any disruptions to their customers’ daily routines.
“We are working diligently to address this issue and improve the generation capacity,” the power company said.
