Damn! They award those who prosper at the expense of others

Instead of awarding herbivores, they award carnivores. They award those who eat other people’s flesh. To me, some awards are buyable.

Carnivores who want to purify their tinted legacies can secretly donate money to award-giving institutions in order to award them. Once awarded, they think that they are distinguished, little do they know they have cheated themselves.

Assuming there is an outbreak of a pandemic, such as the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic. As the world converges to put an end to it, scientists would be working on producing its vaccine. Once produced, people would be vaccinated and the cases monitored to see the effectiveness of the vaccine.

When the pandemic ceases, an organization such as the WHO declares the pandemic eradicated. Then the award-giving institutions work on awarding key personalities who sacrificed to switch off the pandemic. This way, the award is extremely deserving.

There is an economic crisis in South Sudan. It is chronic. Its chronicity has flooded the country with relieved officials tasked with the economic recovery but failed to recover it. Up to today, President Salva Kiir Mayardit is not tired of firing the heads of the economy-boosting ministries and departments as he admits that he is looking for a solution.

The economy deteriorates day by day, what has improved so that one of the assigned economists could win an award? Remember awards are not given merely to people who have drafted strategies. Such strategies should first work to bring the needed change and then the strategist gets awarded. If the award-giving institutions need something from South Sudan’s economists, let them contact them privately.

Award-givers should not give South Sudanese a heart attack at this trying moment. This is a moment where economists should actually work to control the economic crisis and win any award later when they succeed. It is too primitive and mind-boggling to award any official heading a financial institution in South Sudan when public money is privatised at their watch.

If oil and nonoil revenues are collected and deposited into individuals’ bank accounts with or without the knowledge of the heads of financial institutions, is there any excellence in their work to get awarded? What for? Awarded for heading an empty bank? Awarded for zipping his mouth to stop corrupt individuals looting money in the bank? Awarded for not telling the truth that the presidency is the one destroying the economy?

Awarded for accepting the mistake which is not his? Awarded for refusing to resign when the situation needs resignation? Awarded for trying to install a 246-year U.S’s Central Bank system in the 13-year South Sudan’s Central Bank system? Awarded for deploying hungry soldiers to beat black marketers? I do not understand at all.

Every time the dollar rate rises, prices skyrocket as well. When efforts are exerted to reduce the dollar rate, prices remain high as they wait for the next rise of the dollar. When the dollar rate rises again, prices skyrocket further, making the efforts exerted on the reduction of the dollar rate good for nothing.

Then there is this useless thing they call auctioning of dollars. They have been injecting millions of dollars into the market, but nothing improves. Yes, they inject dollars into their own pockets. Each day, commodities attain different prices in the market as the dollar rate continues to rise. With such a fluctuating economy, would one dare accept an award for achieving excellence in economic recovery? Some people are very desperate for awards.
