Central Equatoria State Governor Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani on Wednesday received comprehensive reports from three committees charged with evaluating key governance areas in the state.
Governor Jadalla praised the committees for their diligent work and pledged to “take action” on the issues identified in their reports.
He emphasized that the initiative is focused on enhancing governance and not on “targeting individuals.”
The committees, established by gubernatorial orders in May, were tasked with reviewing various aspects of state governance. The first committee scrutinized financial records, budgets, revenue collections, and investments. The second assessed the management and disposal of government assets, lands, and properties. The third evaluated administrative policies, human resource operations, and civil service matters.
Addressing journalists at a joint press conference in Juba, Clement Maring Samuel, the deputy chairperson for the committee that evaluated government assets, lands, and properties, said they submitted their findings, observations, and recommendations.
He said their report covers the period from 2021 to 2024 but declined to disclose specific findings.
“We have already rendered the report to the governor. And all details that we gathered, the findings, the observations, and the recommendations are all in there,” he said.
Maring however refused to disclose their findings.
“Unless we are authorized by the governor to expose details of the report, we cannot do it by ourselves,” he stated. “He is the legitimate person to give it to the public.”
Simon Kiman Lado, Chairperson of the financial records committee, stated that their report includes both findings and recommendations.
“Our job is to inform the public that we have completed our work,” Lado said.
Johnson Shuka Nishak, Chairperson of the administrative policies committee, said their review focused on recruitment, promotions, and retirements within the civil service.
“We identified areas for improvement and submitted our findings to the Governor,” Shuka added.
Governor Jadalla affirmed his commitment to addressing the issues raised and implementing the necessary reforms.
