Refugees urged to return

By Kei Emmanuel Duku

Central Equatorial State Security Advisor, Angelo Daya, has called on residents of Kajo-Keji County who fled the 2016 conflict to return home.

Daya appealed over the weekend following a security assessment visit to the county.

A delegation led by the advisor met with local officials, traditional leaders, and community representatives to discuss the security situation and challenges facing the population.

The security advisor assured residents of the state government’s commitment to providing security and creating an environment conducive to the return of refugees.

He urged for cooperation between the community and security forces to maintain peace and stability.

“If there is any problem, let us sit together and have dialogue,” Daya said.

Brigadier General Malong Agat, the Kajo-Keji County Area Commander, confirmed that the security situation in the county is stable, but urged residents to report any incidents to authorities.

Rt. Rev. Lule James Kenyi, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Kajo-Keji, described the situation as calm and encouraged residents to resume their normal lives.

The security team’s visit aimed to assess the situation on the ground and identify challenges faced by returning refugees.
