In a strong defense of former Central Equatoria Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony, his former press secretary, Derick Derickson, has dismissed accusations that his administration failed to remit revenue to banks, labelling the claims as a political witch hunt.
Last week, Mr. Simon Waakhe Wudu, Press secretary of the state governor (Gen. Augustino Jadalla Wani) said that Adil’s administration neglected cash transfers, leading to dysfunction in various institutions.
“The Governor found that revenue-generating institutions were making unauthorized expenditures on state activities,” Wudu stated.
“He immediately banned this practice and has directed that all spending be managed by the State Ministry of Finance and Planning,” he added.
This came after Jadalla instituted three ad hoc committees which were tasked with examining the state’s records, approved budgets, revenue collections, and investments.
This came after Jadalla established three ad hoc committees, which reviewed the state’s records and approved budgets, revenue collections, and investments.
It also included a committee that assessed the disposal of government assets, while another focused on administrative policies and human resources.
In rebuttal, Derick contends that the attacks are politically motivated, emphasizing that Adil’s administration worked diligently under challenging circumstances.
He rubbished the allegations and termed them as ‘baseless’, ‘untrue’ and mockery political propaganda to tarnish Adil’s reputation.
“The so-called 100 Jadalla report presented by his press Sectary was a kidology, inaccurate and misleading report. In other words, I can describe it as a witch hunt,” said Derick.
“The report alleged that former leadership of Emmanual Adil was doing none remittance of the state resources to the designated account of the government. This is a wild allegation,” he added.
He added that the minister of finance can give proof against ‘wild’ claims that the ‘state is running on no remittance,’ which was inept.
“The ministry of finance who was by then in the leadership of Emmanuel can give proof to what they alleged to be running state through no remittance into designated accounts,” he added.
Derick claimed that Jadalla’s leadership has shown a political witch hunt against Adil since day one.
“Why all this witch hunt against the outstanding leadership of the governor [Adil]? We need a very decisive leadership in CES that can deliver to the aspiration of the people of Central Equatoria state.”
He suggested that Jadalla administration should channel the energy in delivery services rather that turning against Adil’s administration.
“The decisive leadership that is so concerning must use their energy to deliver services to the people of Central Equatoria state then what we call political seeking propaganda that is meant to advance their direction,” Derick added.
e termed the report as ‘words’ with no proper goals in delivering services to the people in the state.
