Governor of Unity State, Riek Bim Top, has urged local communities to commit to building peace both within and with neighboring states.
The call follows a tour of almost all the counties in Unity State aimed at promoting reconciliation and peace. Governor Bim concluded his visit over the weekend in Rubkona County with a strong appeal for unity.
According to the governor’s press unit, his engagement with various communities has led to peace and calm throughout the state.
Addressing a large crowd during a peace rally in Rubkona County, Governor Bim stressed that it is important for people to promote peace and reconciliation.
“Governor Bim emphasised the importance of peace and reconciliation in the state, urging all communities to come together and work towards a peaceful and prosperous state,’’ the statement read.
After his appointment by President Salva Kiir, Governor Bim pledged to unify the communities and encourage development.
He expressed his commitment to advancing sustainable peace in the state, urging all residents to actively participate in efforts that promote peaceful coexistence and development.
