It is so sad that civilians were ambushed along the Nimule Highway while travelling to Uganda by bus.
This kind of insecurity along the Nimule highway which is one of the economic lifelines is not good since the entire country depends on this road for business purses since other roads are unapproachable.
For example, since South Sudan is not yet stable with its economy, at least the Nimule Road should be maintained because there is no other road for transporting goods to South Sudan.
The delayed implementation of peace in the country has had a great impact on such incidents. Most suffering are the poor citizens who are trying to survive by doing business or who are going to see their homes in Uganda. Nimule roads will soon be a threat to travellers to add on; it also scares the people who came from the comp to return.
Our leaders have ever spoken on the issues to do with improving security in the country and bringing total peace to the country even while governors, ministers, and all political parties in the state counties are watching this incident.
The lives of innocent civilians are bleeding every day, including in other parts of the country that are suffering from the same problems. Just shooting all the time, why?
These days it gives no trust to passengers travelling, and everyone is scared.
South Sudan should adopt the culture of developing a national army with well-equipped machines for proper deployment at the borders and highways just like other developed countries are setting theirs. Since the world is going digital the government must make proper use of the TTCV cameras for monitoring such incidents.
I condemned this act and appealed to the government to carry on an investigation into the incident, to tell the truth, and to bring to book who is behind that act and stabilize the security.
God bless South Sudan.
Be right there!
