Central Equatoria State (CES) Governor H.E. Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani on Monday embarked on his long-planned tour to the counties, an idea that was conceived shortly after he took oath of office.
The tour, which is taking place under the theme “consolidating durable peace, unity, security, and stability in Central Equatoria State,” aims to restore calm and hope among the citizens of the state, especially those in the grassroots where there are still pockets of insecurity.
Governor Jadalla has been accompanied by senior state and national government officials, including area Members of Parliament, among others, on the long trip that started at the State Headquarters—Juba on Monday morning, October 7, 2024.
In his statement to the media Hon. Francis Luwala, the Secretary General of the Central Equatoria State Government explained that the Governor is travelling in this significant trip “most importantly by road” to understand the realities on the ground.
“He wants to acquaint himself with the security situation across the state and understand the lives of our people and the state road infrastructure,” Luwala said.
He emphasized that the governor’s huge county tour is also to give hope to citizens by portraying on how much the government is concerned about the situation on the ground, among several reasons.
After travelling for some hours along the Juba-Lainya-Yei-Kaya highway, Governor Jadalla’s huge convoy made its first stop at Lainya County on Monday afternoon and was greeted by a warm cordial reception and hospitality by the county authority and citizens, the Governor’s press unit reported.
Lainya County leadership headed by Commissioner, Hon. Robert John Moris Lasu, and the community and locals received the Governor and his delegation at Lainya town, after which Gen. Jadalla will conduct several meetings and engagements with the local authorities.
“The Governor will meet with various local communities, church leaders, youth and women, chiefs, and security stakeholders, among others. He shall also conduct rallies,” a statement on the governor’s social media page, partly read.
It stressed that all the engagements are meant to consolidate durable peace, unity, security, and stability across the state.
