Chief Administrator of Ruweng Administrative Area, Tiob Monyluak, has urged students to prioritize science courses to help improve and save lives within their communities.
Speaking during an inspection of the laboratory at Panrieng Secondary School and Lake No University, Chief Monyluak stressed the importance of science education in addressing local health challenges.
He encouraged students to dedicate themselves to their studies in sciences, as this knowledge is crucial for community development.
He announced that the Administrative Area is committed to ensuring that Lake No University becomes operational, with a strong emphasis on science programs aimed at producing qualified health workers to serve the community’s needs.
The Chief administrator stated that the need to save lives in the communities needs qualified health personnel that could only be produced in the institution.
He appealed to the learners to take their studies seriously citing that a prosperous society depends on them and their skills.
“I am appealing to you to focus on your studies and become doctors and engineers and other specializations because the prosperity of this Administrative Area depends on you,” he said.
He acknowledged the support of the STEM Power team for providing the Panrieng secondary school with laboratory equipment for the first time citing that the government remain committed to promoting education in the area.
“The Administrative Area government is committed to ensuring that education is promoted and skilled personnel are produced to deliver services to the communities” he said
In a separate development, the Chief Administrator inspected the ongoing process at Lake No University ahead of its official opening whose date is yet to be announced.
The Chief Administrator revealed that Lake No has been given the status of a university by the Council of Higher Education.
He added that the University would soon give intake in four faculties to the first batch after its official launching that would be soon.
Tiob promised that the Administrative Area would invest in the University in order to produce a qualified labour force.
He added that the Administrative Area will put more effort into ensuring that Lake No University is soon operational with a focus on sciences in order to produce more health workers to help the communities.
The Chief Administrator promised that the government would remain committed to ensuring that the laboratories are maintained to ease science learning in the area.
He stated that his administration continues to prioritize education in order to produce future leaders, doctors and lawyers who will deliver services to the communities in RAA, neighbouring states and South Sudan at large.
In his part, the Administrative Area Minister of General Education and Instruction Badia Maker Bol said that despite challenges, the sector continues to improve in the area.
He promised that the Administrative Area has laid down several plans to ensure that education is improved and skilled manpower is produced.
He appreciated the Chief Administrator for his willingness to ensure that education is face-lifted in the area.
He acknowledged the development made in various schools and called on the Chief to put more support to the sector in order to provide necessary services to the people
