Umbrella Political Parties convene leadership conference in Rajaf

Umbrella of Political Parties convened a three-day leadership conference in Kit Boma, Rajaf Payam, to restructure and reorganize the coalition ahead of the 2026 elections.

Umbrella Chairperson Peter Mayen Majongdit stated that the conference’s objective is to strengthen the coalition’s resolve and commitment to building a better future.

“At this three-day conference we will be able to deeply discuss all the challenges, we will also brainstorm a various opportunity and what we need to do as the umbrella political parties,” he said.

“Of course, for every strong political organization or civil organization there must be a strong leadership,” he added.

Mr. Majondit who is also the chairperson of the People’s Liberal Party (PLP) noted that the leadership meeting will look at its policies and outfit leadership structuring.

“Yes, the conference will enable us to revisit and re-strategize our determination toward the future,” he said.

“Of course, the 3-day conference we do know we will dwell a lot on numerous issues including re-organization of Umbrella political parties and also new policies in regard to improvement of Umbrella political parties,”  Majongdit added.

Besides, he revealed that they would discuss pre-election strategies and plan accordingly.

“We will definitely discuss the pre-election strategies including the preparation and what needed to be done,” he said.

Majongdit noted that Umbrella political parties were the first to embark on this political journey.

“I do believe we have taken the first step among the political parties in this country to have started our preparation for 2026 by this very important conference which is the leadership conference

To him, that will create a greater bond to push members forward in achieving the most desired future.

The conference draws together Umbrella members from ten states and three administrative areas

Acting Secretary General for the Umbrella, Simon Elias expressed his happiness, adding that members should work collectively for the success of their Umbrella political parties.

“I am happy that this is the right time as we are trying to go for election. I want to thank the leadership for all the efforts you have made so that we prepare ourselves for this journey that is ahead of us,” said Elias.

“I am very confident that if we join our hands together and work for the welfare of our party all of us will succeed,” he added.
