SPLM denies links with ADA Enterprise on ‘Beauty Pageant’

By Deng Ghai Deng

National Secretariat of Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM)  has issued a statement refuting claims circulating on social media regarding a partnership with ADA Enterprise Co. Ltd. to host “SPLM Beauty Pageant” scheduled for February 14, 2025.

SPLM emphasizes that such claims are unfounded and lack legal basis.

“The SPLM is a non-profitable registered revolutionary political party that respects and abides by the Laws of the Republic of South Sudan that prohibits involvement political parties in business activities,” the statement read in part.

The SPLM has called for ADA Enterprise, owned by singer Achuei Deng Ajing, to immediately retract its assertions of collaboration and support from the SPLM.

“The SPLM leadership assures its membership and the entire public that the ADA Enterprise Co. Ltd. claim is not official and considered as unethical,” it added.

The SPLM’s Legal Secretariat and Legal Advisor have been directed to investigate the matter and take appropriate action, according to the letter.

On Friday morning, Achuei Deng Ajiing made headlines by announcing that she had launched the “SPLM Beauty Pageant” under ADA Enterprises Co. Ltd.

According to the singer, the first edition of the pageant will be held on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025, at Freedom Hall in Juba.

In her statement, Achuei expressed her gratitude to the SPLM party for its support and cooperation during the registration process for the beauty pageant.

She also mentioned that the registration process for models would soon be announced.

With the SPLM now investigating the use of its name, the future of the beauty pageant remains uncertain.
