Vice President and Chair of the Economic Cluster, Professor James Wani Igga, on Monday donated 800,000 South Sudan Pounds to support local sports and celebrate Christmas in Lo’bonok Payam, Juba County, Central Equatoria State.
Igga made the donation after watching a friendly match between Lo’bonok United and Yapa United played on Monday evening in Lo’bonok.
The highly contested game between the two third-division clubs in the Juba Local Football Association ended in a 1-1 draw.
The donation will be used to support the two clubs and the match officials who participated in the game.
The friendly match was organized by the youth of Lo’bonok County to celebrate Christmas and the New Year Festival.
While addressing the spectators and players, the Vice President commended the players for showcasing entertaining football that attracted a large crowd.
In attendance at the game, alongside Igga, were the Central Equatoria State Minister of Education and Instruction, Cirisio Zakaria Ladio, traditional chiefs, and residents of Yapa Boma.
