What if South Sudan returns to war? Many are going through sleepless nights just because they have seen South Sudan is returning to war.
Some have already left the country for exile. They have evacuated their children and everything that belongs to them. Others are on their way leaving the country. The country is to be left a battle ground.
One time, a man sensed that there was going to be war in his village. And that man was known of avoiding every problem. He didn’t want to be counted among the victims of any circumstance. So, learning that his village was preparing for war, he left to another village. Unfortunately, upon his arrival in this new village, the village youth started an unplanned fight. He had nowhere to run. Since he was a stranger, he was targeted and killed.
Your prediction of war in South Sudan may be true. You have seen the government and the opposition violating the peace agreement. But it is never your problem! It is not you planning the war. The person who plants the seed of evil always harvests it him/herself. You may see innocent people dying but the problem is not dying, the problem is who is responsible. We will one time answer before that unknown supernatural power.
You don’t need to trouble yourself about the country going back to war or not. It is not every soldier that goes to war that is killed. Some soldiers, though they enter into the hottest part of the battle, unimaginably survive! There was war in 2013, 2016 in our nation but there were many that survived.
Leave the government and the opposition with their business of war. Let’s see if such a business of taking human life will boom. I believe the customers will only be animals and birds. If you are in South Sudan for business, continue doing your business. If you are in South Sudan for any kind of work, continue doing your work. Whether the country is returning to war or not, it is none of your business.
Don’t forget; whatever occupies your mind becomes what you will meet. If you think of war from time to time, war will eventually meet you because it is what you think about. It is dangerous in South Sudan that people sing war, moment by moment. Where they take tea, they only talk about war. Where they eat food, they only talk about war. Why can’t war come when it is what everyone needs? Focus on what is positive in life.
Why should I plant my seeds? What if it doesn’t rain? Once upon a time, there was severe famine in a land. The food to be eaten wasn’t enough. It reached a period of cultivation. People wanted to plant their crops but there was no rain. One day, it rained, everyone was happy that they would plant their seeds. They called a community meeting and agreed that they would plant though there was no hope for another rain.
One of them, a man who doesn’t believe in the things he hasn’t seen, objected the decision of the community to plant their seeds though there was no hope for another rain. He said what if there would be no rain; what if the seeds wouldn’t germinate when he didn’t have more seeds? Others planted their seeds but he refused to. There was no rain for a month, but the seeds that were planted germinated. It reached the harvest. Others harvested many seeds but the man harvested nothing. He regretted at the end.
Why should I start this business; what if I go through losses? There are many who would have been great business people but because of their fear of encountering losses they aren’t. They have learned from the testimonies of some people that in starting it is always difficult.
One day my uncle started a business of fish. He went to the village and bought so many dry fish. He loaded the fish in a boat and started to bring them to juba. On his way, another bigger boat knocked his boat. His boat sank and he lost all his dry fish. He became frustrated and lost his hope in business.
Business experts say, “To do business you must take risk.” People who fear to encounter any business losses don’t start any business. I have seen it from so many people. I am so happy some individuals who started business, encountered big losses but moved on until they are successful now. The time you have an idea to start a business, never say what if! Start it just straight away. It may go well with you.
What if I fall into an accident? So many people fear to travel. They have the stories of accidents and they think they may fall into accidents too. Many planes have crushed. Some people don’t want to travel by plane because they think the plane may crush. Car accidents will continue to happen. Planes crush will continue to be there. Should that hinder your freedom to travel by car or plane? I advise it should not! Car accidents and planes crush are not meant for you. Don’t worry about it. You are safe.
What if they don’t read my writings? People fear to write because they think what they write isn’t worth reading. It was my greatest fear at first. I thought people would not like my writings. I had to fight such a fear. I wrote my first article in 2018. I thought it would not be published. But I had to believe that it would be. I went to the newspaper. I first took it to Juba Monitor newspaper. They didn’t accept claiming I didn’t write it myself. They thought I was young to write such a pierce. I didn’t give up. I took to citizen No 1 newspaper. Thank God they didn’t judge my physical appearance. They judged what I wrote. They published it. From there, I overcame my fear of saying that no one would read my writings. I only focus on what I write. I don’t write for others. I write for myself. I put to my mind that if no one reads what I write, my editor and I will read it. That will keep me to write all my years.
You can overcome your fear of thinking that no one will like your writings. Writers have had the same fear too. But they are writing now. Just start it. You don’t know yet what your audience want. You may be their best writer. You never know what people want until you hear from them. When you write, some of your good readers shape your writings. Their comments are powerful. They fix you to what they like to read. Their feedbacks have great help in my writing life. I have already understood what they want. As long as you have the idea to write, please, start!
What if she doesn’t accept me! It came a time when I admired a very beautiful girl. The girl was so beautiful that I thought I was not so handsome to deserve her. I had that war in my mind but I lost. I belittled myself not knowing that the girl surely was in love with me.
When I failed to approach her, another man approached her. She got married to that man though he wasn’t her best choice. I was her best choice but I could not approach her. She just decided to accept the man because she had no choice. The time I met her, she said, “You are a stupid man.” That was the time I learned the girl was in love with me. She declared to me that she would hate me for life. I am struggling now to make her forgive me.
I am a man who thinks beautiful girls are not for me. I used to think that beautiful girls are rude. I have just believed that beautiful girls can also accept me. My conclusion that every beautiful girl cannot accept me is not true. There are so many men who have the same fear. They never believe that they deserve the best. If you dream for the best, you get the best. If you dream for the worst, you get the worst. If you want a beautiful girl, you get a beautiful girl. Fight your fears.
What if they don’t recognize what I do! We all want recognition. We are just scared that it is not easy for people to recognize what we do. Yes, people won’t easily recognize your worth. Should you suspend doing anything good? You don’t demand recognition from anybody! People choose to recognize us. If they don’t, it is none of our business. Just move on.
What ifs are countless! What do you do? If you decide to worry for all of them, you won’t live even for a second. Believe me, if you focus on “what ifs”, you cannot even sleep. What if a thief comes in when you are asleep? Live a life free of fear. Though you are threatened to die in the next minute, never allow fear to overcome you. It is good to die while free of fear. Go to your grave with smiles. Leave the unknowns to Him who knows the unknowns.
