SSPDF personnel on 1st May, fell into armed youth ambush at Ngap-Agop payam in Tonj East and were disarmed.

The youth returned the 8 weapons following stern warnings by governor, Magook Magook, early this week, following the incident.

According to the Warrap state gubernatorial press, the 8 weapons were given back to the office of the governor, through chiefs who coordinated with the youth to bring back the weapons from bandits.

“8 weapons are received and other 5 more are still missing now. The governor is coordinating through the chiefs to identify those armed youth to bring back the weapons” the press secretary stated.

The youth ambushed the SSPDF at Ngap-Agok last week as they were travelling to their base in the county.

The governor of Warrap has been issuing warnings to youth to refrain from such unruly behavior.

In the last two months, Twic county authorities issued warnings to the youth who also took rifles from Turalei military garrison.

Ultimatum was issued last week, and chiefs were told to bring back the weapons by talking with their sons.

It has become significant challenge to the SSPDF as they become vulnerable to the bandits in the state.
