It is time for South Sudan to wake up.
Many foreign people are working in our country and pretending to be doctors, engineers, and professionals—but they are not.
They do not have real training or certificates. Some never went to school. They learned only by watching others and now call themselves doctors or engineers. This is very dangerous for our people.
I have come to realize that many of these foreigners are lying to us. They are not qualified. Some use fake papers. Some are not doctors but nurses, lab technicians, pharmacists, or even just businessmen.
However, in South Sudan, they wear white coats and pretend to be doctors.
Our citizens trust them, believe them, and follow their advice, while ignoring our own trained doctors and professionals who went to school here and know the truth about medicine, law, and engineering.
Why are we trusting strangers more than our own people? Why do we allow untrained people to touch our lives and health?
Some of these fake doctors give wrong medicine. They don’t know the proper dose. They say, “Take it three times a day,” but the medicine is meant to be taken only twice. They don’t know how to give medicine through the right route. They just guess. This can lead to sickness or even death.
Fake engineers are also a big problem. They build houses, schools, and other structures, but their work is poor. Within 72 hours, walls fall down. This is not only a waste of money, but it also puts lives in danger. They are not trained. They are not qualified.
In their own countries, they cannot pretend to be doctors or engineers. They would be arrested. But in South Sudan, we are sleeping. We allow anything. This must stop. We must not be fooled.
Even car mechanics are a problem. Some fix your car, and it breaks down again within two hours. They do not understand cars well, but they pretend to be mechanics. Why are we allowing this?
Many foreigners are also selling food and goods that are dirty, expired, or too expensive. They are making money from us, but they do not even build a single small house in this country. They take the money and invest it elsewhere. They do not care about South Sudan. They are not here to help—they are here to make money.
Our government must take action. All clinics, pharmacies, hospitals, and companies should be checked. If someone says they are a doctor, their certificate should be verified. If someone says they are an engineer, it must be proven. You should not be allowed to be a hotel worker during the day and a fake doctor at night.
If you are a pharmacist, work in a pharmacy. If you are a doctor, work in a hospital. Let every person work in the field they are trained for.
South Sudan has many good doctors, lawyers, engineers, and other professionals who studied hard and got their degrees. Nevertheless, they are sitting at home without jobs because we are giving their places to foreigners with fake papers. This is not fair. It is hurting our nation.
We must respect and trust our own people. We must protect our health, our buildings, our cars, and our lives.
I am calling on the government of South Sudan to take this issue seriously. Verify all foreigners working in health, engineering, construction, and other important fields. Anyone who is not qualified must be removed. This is the only way to protect our country.
Let us not be blind anymore. Let us not be fooled. Foreigners who come only for money are not helping us. They are using us. It is time to stand up and say, “Enough is enough!”
Let us build South Sudan with truth, with honesty, and with our own-trained people.
