You are the rarest masterpiece

Others focus on educating themselves. You focus on educating others. You want others to get the education you have.

You would like to see South Sudan embracing the value of education. You want to liberate your people from illiteracy; not the simple illiteracy which means someone has not gone to school; but the dangerous illiteracy which means someone reads and writes but the value of education is not seen in him or her.  It has been your dream to inculcate true education in your nation. You don’t remain silent when it comes to building your nation education. You are rare.

Others are busy dividing the nation. You are busy uniting the nation. Whatever thing you do points towards seeing a united South Sudan. You fight against all the dividing factors in the nation. You rebuke those who divide people based on tribe. You rebuke those divide people based on social status. You teach your nation the value of unity. You remind those who are ignorant about embracing others’ uniqueness. You plan activities that bring unity in the nation. Your joy is seeing everyone living as a brother and sister. You make people understand that South Sudan was liberated for every South Sudanese. Every South Sudanese should feel safe in the nation. You are rare.

Others put first dishonesty. You are honest in everything you do. Your report is very clean. You don’t do things in hiding. You don’t take money that isn’t yours. You don’t steal in the name of saying that it is public money. You have very many opportunities to embezzle funds; but you remain true to your principles. You can easily corrupt but you don’t. You just fear yourself not others. It doesn’t matter whether others see you or not, the fact that you see yourself stops you from doing what is unlawful. You are such a rare human.

When others choose talking, you choose listening. You believe in the magic of silence. You know by keeping silent, you solve many issues. By keeping silent, you refrain from backbiting. By keeping silent, you learn more from others. By keeping silent you put an end to useless arguments. By keeping silent you end a fight. By keeping silent, you reflect on your life. By keeping silent you understand other people’s intentions. By keeping silent you minimise your words. Being silent differentiates the wise from the fools. What a rare you!

Others wait for ready made things; you prepare yours. You mentor others to be like you. You build your human resource. If your workers aren’t performing well, you don’t terminate them. You build their capacity. You give them what they lack. You know one time you won’t be there. So, you raise others to replace you. Others wait to bring foreigners to work in the nation because they are perceived to be better than the nationals, but you use the nationals and educate them to be better than the foreigners. You believe in your people. You believe things can be made through their effort. Things can be perfected. You are surely a rare one on earth.

This is your politics! You allow others to rule after you. You involve everybody in your leadership. You base your leadership on merit. You employ those who deserve to be employed. The right person is not your parent or relative. The right person is any person who has done what is right. You make sure your workers enjoy the same privileges. You don’t overwork your workers. You understand what your workers need. You sympathize with them. You solve their problems. You take decisions inclusively. You are blessed with authority. You lead your people with wisdom. You see others in your leadership not yourself. You hate torturing others. You are rare.

Others hate when they are corrected; but you accept every correction. Whether corrected by even a child, you are humble to accept it. You admit all your mistakes. You don’t say that you know everything. You understand there are things you need to learn from others. You understand even a child can teach you a lesson. It is the reason you pay attention to everyone. It is the reason you see everybody important. You are not all knowing. You reason with others in everything.  You are rare.

Others are busy criticising others; but you are busy making people understand where they have gone wrong. You don’t judge but you educate. You correct others with love. You make others understand that correcting them does not mean they are useless. It means they should be helped by the person who cares for them. You make them understand that it is normal to make a mistake. They should not feel bad for making mistakes sometimes. They just need to accept the mistakes and try not to make it again.  You are a history.

When others block their minds, you help them open them. People block their minds when things don’t go the way they expect. They easily lose hope. But you are there to give them hope. You are there to tell them that life offers another chance. At funeral everyone cries, you don’t cry. You comfort them. They are heartbroken. You don’t become heartbroken. You collect the broken pieces of their heart and fix them again. You are a heart repairer. You bring happiness in people’s lives. You make people see another side of life; the beautiful side of life.  You are a rare creature.

Others speak negative; but you speak positive. When they predict there will be war, you predict there will be no war. When they predict there will be no rain, you predict there will be rain. When they predict President Salva Kiir is dead, you predict he is alive. People think death ends everything. You can wish your enemy dead, but another worst enemy will immediately emerge.  You always tell the positive side of the story. You only post things that bring hope to people. You post things that bring good news to people. You turn all negative things to positive. Your life is filled with hope.

Just remember your advocacy for teachers’ welfare last month! You communicated publicly that teachers are the backbone of the nation. You made it clear that they must be paid well. You made it plain to the public that teachers must be valued and treated special. Others are busy undermining the teachers, you uplift them. You give recognition to their sacrifices for the nation. Teachers are nation builders. They bring transformation into the nation. They build the nation’s human resource. There is no institution even the palace that can run smoothly if teachers haven’t contributed in their system. Everyone went through a teacher. The president one time knelt before a teacher though a teacher can’t see him now.  Teachers should not be frustrated. They should not be desperate. If you don’t know, if teachers are frustrated, they transfer their frustration to the children and we have frustrated children. These frustrated children are the future frustrated leaders or workers. So, we have a frustrated nation. Thank you for recognizing the great role of teachers in the nation.

You live a life of purpose. You purpose everything you do. You don’t get yourself into something. You plan to get into something.  You put meaning to your life. You know your life is your life. You don’t charge others responsible for any mess in your life.  You put all the blame on no one. Though things don’t go well with you, you treat it normal. You know you can make it if you try again. It is your purpose that wakes you up early every day. It is your purpose that keeps you trying every day. It is your purpose that renews your life every day. You are rare human.

Your tough times are your lesson times! You learn a lesson from any painful moment you go through. You know every tough time happens for a reason. Maybe such a moment comes to make you stronger and stronger than before. Maybe such a tough moment comes to wake you up from sleep. Maybe such a tough time comes to educate you about the reality of life. The reality of life is that there is time for everything. There is time for good things and there is time for bad things. Embracing your tough times and turning them in blessings communicates you are a person of dignity. You are a person blessed with a heart. You are not pulled down by any circumstance. You remain as a mountain which can’t be shaken. You remain flowing like the Nile River. You can try to stop the Nile water from flowing but it will continue to flow. Any situation will try to stop you from moving on, but you continue to move on.

The world is deserved only by people of your kind. People who see the best in others; People who find joy in living harmoniously with others; and people whose heart is in the welfare of the nation; People who brings hope into the lives of the hopeless; People whose lives improve the lives of others. They clap hands when others succeed. They are hated but they love. They are unvalued, but they value. They are not respected, but they respect. They leave the world a better place than they found it. These people are rare! Be kind to the nation.
