President Salva Kiir Mayardit has travelled to United Arab Emirates; a diplomatic visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and securing investment opportunities.
Vice President and chairperson for Economic Cluster, Dr. Benjamin Bol, accompanied the president to Juba International Airport.
According to a statement from President’s office, while, in the UAE, Kiir is scheduled to hold a series of high-level meetings with Emirati business leaders and government authorities.
The president plans to highlight recent reforms in South Sudan, designed to improve business environment and attract foreign direct investment.
The statement also noted that this visit follows a series of domestic changes aimed at making South Sudan more appealing to international investors.
Beyond economic discussions, President Kiir will also meet with UAE leaders to discuss matters of mutual interest. These topics include regional peace, the state of trade relations, and avenues for cooperation in infrastructure development.
President Kiir’s trip is part of a broader diplomatic effort by the Government of South Sudan.
This initiative seeks to strengthen international cooperation, consolidate global partnerships, and support post-conflict reconstruction through sustainable economic growth.
