Governor, Rabi focuses on fostering peace, unity

By Lodu William Odiya

Central Equatoria State governor has reaffirmed his commitment to advance policies that foster peace, unity, and security in the state.

Governor, Rabi Mujung Emmanuel, speaking on the nation’s fourteenth anniversary, said service delivery is the cornerstone of his administration.

“We are prioritizing infrastructure development, health care, and education while enhancing disaster response mechanisms as essential rights of every citizen,” he said.

Reflecting on the Independence Day, Rabi noted that the day reminds citizens about the cause and sacrifices of heroes and heroines who had laid the foundation for a free, sovereign South Sudan.

“Today, we renew our commitment to the values for which they stood: peace, unity, justice, and national dignity,” Rabi said.

“I salute all leaders and citizens who continue to patriotically divert their efforts to peacebuilding and nation-building,” he added.

He underscored that accountability, transparency, and the pursuit of practical, sustainable solutions in the public interest remain paramount.

He further called on the citizens to strengthen their resolve to work together across all political, ethnic, and social lines for the greater good.

“Our shared destiny remains our shared commitment. Happy 14th Independence Day. May God bless Central Equatoria State and the Republic of South Sudan,” he said.

In June this year, Mujung directed all state institutions to prioritize efficient service delivery, urging officials to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

His commitment to clean governance is seen as a response to longstanding concerns about mismanagement and inefficiency in the state, with the governor pledging to lead by example in fostering a culture of ethical leadership.
