The Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, H.E. Simon Ober Mawut, on Tuesday welcomed students from Cornerstone Academy Schools (Primary and Secondary) to his office and the State Government Secretariat for an inspirational visit aimed at motivating them as future leaders of the state.
In a statement released by the state press unit, the Governor extended the invitation after being deeply impressed by the students’ moving poetry performance dedicated to South Sudan’s war heroes and heroines during the Independence Day celebrations held in Marial-Baai, Ayat East Payam, Aweil West County on 9th July 2025.
The statement underlined during the visit, Governor Ober urged the students to remain focused on their studies and committed to personal growth, emphasizing that education is the key to building a strong and prosperous nation.
The statement also highlighted that the students the students and administration of Cornerstone Academy expressed their gratitude for the warm reception and presented the Governor with a certificate of appreciation, commending his humility and exceptional leadership in steering the affairs of the state.
The importance of education for children lies in its ability to create a strong foundation for intellectual, emotional, and social development.
It fosters critical thinking, helps develop essential life skills, and encourages children to explore their curiosity.
These formative years, children absorb vast amounts of information and begin to form the foundation of their future learning.
