South Sudan and Sudan Football Associations have this week signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening relationship regarding sports.
The two countries’ FAs signed a memorandum of cooperation and a number of protocols on the 10th of November 2022.
This development came during a meeting between South Sudan and Sudanese presidents of football Association in Khartoum, the Sudanese capital being the host Country for the U-20 Africa Cup of nation’s qualifiers.
Earlier this Month, the presidents of South Sudan and Sudan football Associations held a meeting intended to modify the current football status of the two Countries and how the administrations concerned would be backed-up to make an improved steps towards prosperity.
The meeting further discussed bilateral ties in regards to how the two Countries could initiate capacity building to strengthen players with creative football skills and talents to excel globally.
In a statement extended to No.1. Citizen Daily Newspaper over the weekend, the agreement covered exchange of experiences in the fields of administration, organization of events, Marketing, Sports facilities, football studies and research.
It has further mandated Sudan to undertake technical trainings, develop referees’ skills, management of football as well as develop guidance for sports programs as well as make final induction with variety of analysis.
Other part of the agreement prioritized improvement of Women’s football, Youth football, Futsal football, Beach soccer, Sports medicine, Research in football matters, the laws and regulations pertaining football.
General Augustino Madut Parek and Mr. Mutasem Jaffar promised to keep up the good relationship between the two National Associations and work closely together to promote the game in the two countries, South Sudan and Sudan.
According to the MOU signed, Sudan Football Association shall undertake 90% of the football initiatives including training of the referees, developing football policies as well as partake organization of players through the matrix.
