Leaders at different levels of society, homes, institutions, governments, e.t.c, are seldom faced with the uphill task of keeping sanity, order or serenity in their spheres of influence. It’s of utmost importance, for all of us to understand that, due to the fall of man, every man successfully born on Earth comes with some degree of madness or foolishness!
So, it’s an illusion to think babies are born innocent and clean. This is the report of King Solomon’s research, “This is an evil in all that is done under the sun: that one thing happens to all. Truly the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil; madness is in their hearts while they live, and after that, they go to the dead.” (Ecclesiastes 9:3); again, he says, “Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of correction will drive it far from him.” (Proverbs 22:15).
I think this is precisely why, someone says, “All human beings are mad, except the degree of madness is different”! This statement is true! If you want to know that there is a measure of foolishness and madness in all human being, just stress them, irritated them or cause them to hang in a place of desperation for sometime; you will truly be very surprised, how the deep sighted madness that hid for many years being sermoned for actions. It’s the reason why people make statement like, “you will see my true colors”, or they can threaten you and says, “… don’t allow me cut wires… Or ..if you want me show you, I will..”! People often pretend a lot, people often love to show their innocent face, until crisis in regard to their most critical need comes to surface. This is why we all need to systematically go through transformation, so that those different layers of foolishness and madness that settled in our hearts from childhood, get erased and washed by the Word of God. Praise the Lord!!
That said, parents and leaders in general therefore, are entrusted with this surmountable task of managing and bringing to order and control the behaviors of people entrusted to them.
This is because, for any society or home to realize they purpose, all Foolishness and madness must be brought under control; whether people know God, whether they don’t know the Bible or Holy Spirit, society must be managed! This is why civil government are servants of God Almighty. Paul says, “For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.” (Romans 13:3-4) NKJV.
Similarly, if you pamper your children and you haven’t understood the importance of discipline and punishment, here we go!!
Firstly, you need to know, indiscipline children are a calamity in waiting for you! (Proverbs 19:13) says, “A foolish child is a calamity to a father; a quarrelsome wife is as annoying as constant dripping”.
Secondly, Foolishness and madness can only leave the hearts of a child or the mocker by rod of discipline, (Proverbs 29:15) says, “The rod and rebuke give wisdom, But a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.” And Proverbs 23:13 NKJV says, “Do not withhold correction from a child, For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.”
Finally, remember, there is a very handsome reward, if leaders give the needed discipline to those who deserve it, Proverbs 23:24 NKJV says,
“The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, And he who begets a wise child will delight in him.”
Please note: a mocker is someone who treat important things or despises important things; and leaders are people who stand up and say, No, you can’t break and treat for granted what is important to all us ( so, leaders and parents keep and enforce values and virtues, because purpose, without values is like a devil in heaven!! 😁
