Dear Dr. John Garang, weed the garden; remove those destroying South Sudan

Dear Dr. John Garang de Mabior, it is unfortunate that this year’s Martyrs Day Commemoration has come at a time when South Sudanese are living at the mercy of the economy. It is up to the economy to kill all South Sudanese or spare a few.

Neither the Presidency nor the Economic Cluster is capable of putting an end to the economic crisis. So, South Sudanese are looking for a solution from heaven. But if martyrs can provide such a solution, then there is no problem. All needed is a solution to this chronic economic crisis, whether such a solution comes from hell or heaven.

Dear founding father, your successor, H.E Salva Kiir Mayardit, has refused to work with domestic animals and so, he is working with wild animals, particularly hyenas. When you were alive, you knew hyenas very well. You knew how insatiable they were and still are. They eat anything. They even eat their own cubs when they have failed to get prey.

Those working with President Salva Kiir Mayardit eat anything. They eat oil, gold, diamond, nickel, uranium, land, water, and anything they see is chewable. They eat oil and nonoil revenues; thus, they are the reason why civil servants and soldiers spend months without salary. They are the very reason why some ministries are operating in fabricated offices. They are the reason why infrastructural, educational, agricultural and healthcare systems are too poor to operate efficiently.

When they fall sick, they request a thousand dollars to travel abroad for treatment, even when they are diagnosed with uncomplicated malaria which can be treated in a local clinic in the outskirts of Juba, let alone Juba Teaching Hospital. When their relatives die, they request a lump sum of money for burial and funeral rites. They travel anyhow anywhere, hence wasting a lot of money on junkets.

When Salva Kiir Mayardit tells them to stop corruption or relieve one from his/her position, they arm themselves and go to the bush to fight the government. They kill South Sudanese, including their own relatives in the government, thus making Salva Kiir Mayardit feel sympathy to call them for peace negotiations and integration into the government. Once in the government, they resume eating public money.

So, this situation has put President Salva Kiir Mayardit in a dilemma. If he relieves all corrupt officials, he fears of them going to the bush to cause havoc. But if he leaves them to steal as much money as they want, then the civil servants and soldiers go unpaid for as many months as eight or nine. I pity President Salva Kiir Mayardit! I really pity him. He has the heart to make South Sudan a sanctuary place for everyone, but his workmates have itching teeth, they eat people’s salaries every month. Why? Why would South Sudanese suffer when you are just 19 years old in your tomb?

Dear Dr John Garang, your soul is still young to guard and help South Sudan get rid of people behind this economic crisis. There are economic criminals who provoke the economy to grow annoyed in order to benefit from it. When the economic cluster devises ways of reining the economy today, they call for a meeting at night to devise ways of worsening the economy further in order to continue benefiting from it. Take a sharp machete and chop them alive so that they feel how it pains to prosper at the expense of others. Kill them! Let them go! They are a disgrace to South Sudanese!

Thank you for reading “Sowing The Seed Of Truth”.
