You need only power when you want to do something harmful to others

By Ustaz Mark Bang

Nothing ever is painful to those who are facing serious problems; nothing ever helps when desires, expectations, wants, and needs are denied. Nothing is ever more harmful than seeing yourself or others crying, and nothing helps.

There is no good journey in the country when people’s rights are rejected and when those in power do things that seem good to them. I am questioning myself: Where shall we see ourselves and the nation in ten years to come? It’s quite shocking to learn this from the national legislative assembly that laws have been placed where citizens would never reach. Where on earth does arrest without warrant work? Whether in the United States of America, Europe, Asia, and the rest of the world, it’s not at all possible. Yes, it’s been voted that there shall be arrest without warrant, but I believe this wouldn’t work out when an accurate time comes.

This will definitely happen no sooner than later. Innocent persons will find themselves in the cell, and there shall be no ground to save her/himself, or if at all people will continue to be safer in the hands of those who are not observing the rights of others. We are leaving in a country where suffering is the focus of the day and where we value foreigners more than the citizens. We know one may travel to other countries in the world and will never be treated more than the citizens. To my surprise, when citizens claim he has problems with one of these people who might have come from their nations, they find themselves being harassed. I never believe that our government we elected would do this to me, you, or them. When any person feels naive about others, they could simply use the power that had given them privileges to intimate, harass, or do all he wants to achieve. In my own view, it’s not possible to arrest anyone without an arrest warrant whatsoever; if someone wants to achieve their desired goals, this is not the only way; there are so many ways. Ways that show legal procedures rather.

Look! Mr. President was exactly saying something true to those who lobby for positions and fail to address the faked promises. He was indeed trying to do something very special to the nation. Having said this, it takes a person to continue getting busy putting public money into his own account for a good number of months and ends up doing nothing to the nation. He said, “I am tired of sacking and appointing those who claim to be doing their best and the latter happen to be good at nothing.” Yes! Mr. President is right at this point. I believe all people that work in government’s institutions holding big positions don’t stay for months with salary; they wouldn’t have been disturbing our head of state to be appointed.

However, all things done by those who never want the president to provide basic utilities to his people and executive his leadership without doubt, they want to put blame on him as head of state; they are defaming him. Yes! Who should be blamed? But the president who appoints them into various positions whatsoever has been called upon by the president. I know very well that civil servants are the very people suffering here in our country; there is no salary, and they still devote their time to doing what they are mandated to. It’s very sad seeing some of these people get up early in the morning and continue going to work as usual, not knowing how hard they’re suffering—no food, soap, or even clothes to wear.

Conclusively, I am calling and urging our incumbent president to see how hard his own people who rally behind him are suffering. When your endorsement came, Mr. President, as the only SPLM flagbearer to run for this year’s national election, you have seen how people massively turned up to support you. May of your supporters slept with an empty stomach but still have that hope that one day they and their families would sit and enjoy life beautifully, and encouragingly they did. Please be on the safe side. The safe side is that you should be with your people rather than individuals who seek only to squander the public money. This money is to build our healthcare, schools, roads, and other crucial infrastructural facilities. Thanks for reading. God bless you all. “Public Staunchest Ally.”
