Former Munuki FC Midfielder joins Benin League

By Kei Emmanuel Duku

Joseph Loro Jele, captain of the South Sudan U-20 National Team, has signed a one-year deal with Asvo Football Club in the Benin Premier League. The move comes after a disappointing stint with Raising Stars FC in the Nigerian League.

A versatile midfielder capable of playing both defensive and attacking roles, Jele previously showcased his talent at Munuki FC in Juba between 2021 and 2022. He replicated this form with the South Sudan U-20 National Team, where he captained the side at last year’s U-20 African Cup of Nations played in Egypt.

Jele’s new club, Asvo FC, is currently struggling in the Benin Premier League, sitting second from bottom of the South Group with 18 points from 10 matches. Their recent form includes five wins, three draws, and two losses, with their last match ending in a 1-0 victory over Adjidja FC.

The transfer represents a new chapter in Jele’s career as he seeks to revive his footballing fortunes in Benin.
