Health workers in Morobo County are celebrating over an ambulance donated to the health department, a mile stone set to improve service delivery.
According to a press release, gifting Ambulance to the department is a landmark plan of Morobo county, to invest in health care.
Commissioner of Morobo, Charles Data Bullen handed over the Ambulance that was exported from Uganda, to the County Health Director.
The ambulance, set to be a crucial component of public health infrastructure, is to provide vital assistance and medical transport to patients in distress. It will also offer continuity of care between emergency and hospital services in Morobo county.
The commissioner expressed mixed emotions concerning the delay of the asset, citing that he is glad to present it presence to the department.
Bullen urged the health committee to handle the ambulance with extreme care in order to maintain its longevity. He also informed them of his complete awareness about the challenges crippling the health sector including logistics and equipment shortages, assuring them of gradual changes yet to surface.
Coordinator of SUHA, Doru Ester urged the officials to provide more ambulances in support for the five Payams.
She also applauded the commissioner for his efforts to build a better health sector in Morobo, citing that the ambulance will majorly help with displaced populations and changing security trends.
