President Salva Kiir Mayardit urged new ambassadors to embody integrity, professionalism, and unwavering commitment in their diplomatic roles.
Kiir made the call on Thursday, while presiding over the swearing-in of the Ambassadors at the State House in Juba, president’s office affirmed.
During his address, President Kiir underscored the critical importance of discipline and integrity in diplomacy, asserting that these qualities are paramount to effectively advancing South Sudan’s interests on the international stage.
The President also reiterated his administration’s dedication to enhancing the working conditions of public officials, including those serving in foreign missions.
The Head of State revealed that he has instructed the Vice President for the Economic Cluster to ensure consistent and timely payments across the entire public sector.
In a significant announcement, President Kiir stated that he has endorsed a series of reforms aimed at restructuring the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
These reforms are part of a wider initiative to bolster the ministry’s performance and ensure its activities are fully aligned with the nation’s foreign policy priorities.
Responding to the President’s charge, the newly sworn-in ambassadors collectively pledged to uphold South Sudan’s values and vigorously protect the nation’s interests abroad.
They committed to serving with dedication and professionalism in their new assignments as they took their oath.
Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Monday Semaya Kumba, who attended the event, highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen South Sudan’s foreign policy framework in light of prevailing regional and international challenges.
