TACKLE Land grabbing-Kiir

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has issued clear and firm directives to Central Equatoria State’s new Governor, Rabi Mujung Emmanuel, to end rampant land grabbing in the country’s capital, Juba.

Recognizing Juba’s rapidly growing population, the President tasked Governor Mujung with ensuring equitable land distribution. This includes allocating land for residential development, investment opportunities, and government infrastructure projects.

The President made the remarks on Wednesday during Governor Rabi Mujung Emmanuel’s official swearing-in ceremony at the State House in Juba.

Addressing a persistent challenge, President Kiir strongly condemned the ongoing practice of land grabbing, highlighting how it continues to sow division among communities

President Kiir also emphasized the importance of close collaboration between the Governor and security agencies to maintain peace and stability throughout Central Equatoria, with particular attention to the capital city, Juba.

Furthermore, the Head of State warned the public against ethnic divisions, urging all South Sudanese to embrace unity and work collectively toward building a peaceful and cohesive nation.

He directed Governor Mujung to govern with integrity, fairness, and a steadfast commitment to national unity.

President Kiir further instructed the state government to focus on rehabilitating Juba’s deteriorating road network, underscoring that quality infrastructure is vital for development and the effective delivery of public services.

Responding to these directives, Governor Mujung expressed his readiness and commitment to implement the President’s key policies, aiming to foster peace and prosperity across Central Equatoria State.
