Yei unveils comprehensive Five-Year strategic plan

Yei River County, on Thursday unveiled a crafted five-year strategic plan during a meeting at the county headquarters.

The county commissioner, Emmanuel Taban Seme expressed gratitude to the Council Exercises Planning Committee for their hard work and dedication in preparing the plan.

He said that the strategic plan will serve as a blueprint for the county’s development initiatives over the next five years.

The commissioner urged the executive council board to collaborate closely to officially adopt the document, with the aim of integrating it into the county’s annual plans starting in 2025.

During the meeting, Seme encouraged the planning committee to maintain their momentum and continue lending their expertise to the county.

John Hillary Konga, Executive Director of Yei River County, warmly welcomed the commissioner during the meeting.

He emphasized the importance of the strategic plan, stating, “Today marks a pivotal moment for our county as we formally hand over the strategic plan to the Executive Council.”

His remarks reinforced the commitment to fostering effective governance that aligns with community needs.

James Wani Banja, Director of Peace Building for Yei River County, also addressed the gathering, reflecting on the collaborative effort involved in developing the five-year strategic plan.

He stated that the comprehensive plan required thorough assessments and contributions from various stakeholders to finalize the document.

With the strategic plan now in hand, the county looks forward to a concerted effort in implementing its initiatives, assuring residents that their needs and aspirations will be prioritized in the coming years.
