President Salva Kiir Mayardit has appreciated Eastern Equatoria government and people for maintaining peace and stability.
Acknowledging the efforts the people in sustaining peace, President Kiir referred to Eastern Equatoria state as a role model for the rest of the country.
President Kiir’s praise followed as briefing by Eastern Equatoria governor, Louis Lobong Lojore on the status of the state.
However, Lobong attributed the serenity of the state to the communities and leaders who have prioritized peace by engaging in dialogue and embrace coexistence.
Meanwhile, Lobong implored the president on operation of Torit University of Science and Technology. He explained that the institution would provide affordable higher education for students within the state, particularly those who cannot afford to study abroad.
The governor appealed to development partners and well-wishers for financial support, emphasizing the importance of education in sustaining peace and progress.
