The authorities of Juba City and the Chinese business community have agreed to ink deal on market expansion into a modern scheme as well as pondering on mechanisms through which infrastructural activities and traffic light could be improved.
This development came following a meeting between the authorities of the City Council and a Chinese business development department at the embassy responsible at aiding city developmental projects in Juba.
Speaking during the meeting, Juba City Mayor H.W Michael Lado Allah-Jabu reiterated that their meeting reached a deal that shall enhance shaping the city with speedy development through advanced infrastructure such as pavement of roads and bridges as well as expanding the market into modern format.
“The Chinese partners have been helping South Sudan a lot in the development sector especially the construction of roads, government buildings and many other projects that have shaped the Country’s look into a better format. I want to assure that my office is willing to welcome the Chinese initiative to partner with us towards improving the shape of Juba City through affirmative infrastructure as well as market expansion to a modern shape where visitors from other Countries would admire its look in comparison and competition with other Countries,” Allah-Jabu said
He further urged all the embassies across the Country to imitate what the Chinese embassy is doing by strengthening the ties between the two Countries in various ways.
Meanwhile, the Chinese delegates from the interim Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese embassy underscored their readiness to jointly work together with the city council to provide multiple developmental activities to shape the look of Juba City such that it competes with some of the developed Countries in the world.
Furthermore, the team appreciated the authorities of the Juba City Council for having accepted their call on the discussions of the crucial matters meant to boost the transformation of the Country’s city into an affirmative level.
They also commended the administration of the city council for having invested much of their efforts towards paving roads in the city to reduce continuous traffic for both drivers and pedestrians who were blocked from accessing services.
On his part, Charles Taban the acting Chief Executive Officer of Juba City Council expressed his readiness to fully work hand in hand with the Chinese government in various ways and urged them to continue supporting the town Council in whatever areas of challenges facing the Country.
