Roseline wins childhood dream, urges parents to educate their daughters

“I like modeling since when I was young therefore, this event has made me to show my talent to the public” this is Roseline Festo who won the Miss Maridi beauty contest.

Roseline Festo was one of eight ladies who contested for Miss Maridi on Saturday, in an event organized by Maridi Community in Juba, in collaboration with Africano Mande Foundation, Equator Broadcasting Cooperation, including Eden among other Companies. under the theme: “Respect my age and stop child marriage” is the first of its kind being organized by Maridi Community in Juba.

Expressing her happiness after being declared the winner, Roseline said modeling has been her dream since her childhood, she applauded the organizers of the event for allowing young girls exercise their talents. Roseline urged parents to support their daughters in education.

Speaking during the event, Peter Sake, the representative of Maridi Community in Juba called on the contestants to use their talents to preach peace and unity in the country.

“Use these event to spread the message of peace and unity to the communities across South Sudan” Sake emphasized.

Mande Bik, a representative of Africano Mande Foundation, told the gathering that empowering youth with skills and social economic development is one of the organization’s objective. “The intention is to disseminate positive information to the public” Bik said.
