Central Equatoria State on Tuesday kick started the official registration and cards production of the SPLM membership.

Speaking during the launch, the Vice President for Economic Cluster Dr. James Wani Igga who is also the deputy Chairman of SPLM called on the new members who have joined SPLM to be discipline and committed to the vision of SPLM.

“I am calling on the new members joining the SPLM party to be discipline and committed to the vision. Now almost over 70 new SPLM party members have registered in Central Equatoria State” Dr. Igga said.

He said the government is working hard to restore peace and stability in the region to pave way for development and economic transformation in the country.

He urged the SPLM members to work for unity and deliver basic needs to the communities as the party prepares for 2023 general election.

Meanwhile, the SPLM Interim Secretary General Peter Lam Both said the launching of SPLM membership registration and card production was in line with the Vision of SPLM national secretariat.

He said those who registered in 1980s have to be registered again as part of screening as 2013 conflict has divided members of the ruling party.

The Interim SPLM chairperson in CES Emmanuel Adil Anthony appealed to all the new party members to commit to respect their leaders.

“I am assuring all the members, I am going to complete the structures of SPLM in all Counties, Payam and Bomas. He said measures would be taken against those members talking negatively against his party” he said.

Adil mentioned that the transitional government of national unity is a coalition government and requires the ruling party to get ready at any time to take power during the upcoming election.
