The Deputy Chairperson of the Sudan sovereign Council Mohamed Hamdan Daglo is in Juba to follow up the progress on the implementation of the 2018 peace deal.
He arrived in Juba from the Sudanese capital Khartoum on Tuesday morning and he was received by the Presidential Advisor on Security Affairs, Tut Gatluak at the Juba International Airport.
The implementation of the agreement has been moving in a snail phase. The graduation of the unified forces is yet to be conducted.
During his visit, Daglo is expected to meet the Presidency to pressure them to urgently graduate the forces.
Speaking to the press upon arrival at Juba International Airport, Daglo said he is in Juba to assess the progress of the implementation of the Revitalized Peace Agreement especially the graduation of the first batch of the unified forces.
“The purpose of this visit is to monitor and follow up the implementation of the 2018 peace agreement, which includes the graduation of the unified forces and the implementation of the remaining chapters of the agreement” Daglo said.
He vowed to meet all the parties to the peace agreement in Juba hoping that the parties will complete the negotiation saying their main aim is the graduation of the first batch of the unified forces.
The Presidential Advisor on Security Affairs Tut Gathluak welcomed the Sudanese leader saying that the government’s administration will listen to the guarantor’s assessment visit.
“We will listen to the message of the Deputy Chairperson and his visit to Juba and we welcome him in his second home,” Gatluak said.
Gatluak added that the government went ahead in the implementation of the 2018 peace deal.
“What is left is the security arrangement, we hope that meetings will be held and we shall reach the final solution and we are ready in all the agreements especially in the security arrangement and its implementation then after that the graduation of forces in the training grounds will be done and the second batch will also be taken for training,” he stated.
