At least 20,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Mayiandit County of Unity State have received food aid from the World Food Program (WFP).
This is the first donation in more than three months. The distribution took place on Friday last week.
The commissioner of Mayiandit County Dr. Gatluak Nyang said the people who received the food aid are those who came to the county since 2020.
Dr. Gatluak said another donation is expected within this week.
One of the beneficiaries Nyakuong Gatkuoth said “we have received food from World Food Program. We had three months without food in the area but today we have got our food”.
She appreciated the government for the support.
