Mundri: Police call for calm after gunshots

The Police authorities in Mundri have called on the general public of Mundri West County to be calm. The call came after citizens of Mundri town on Monday evening experienced heavy gunshots that created panic and fear among the citizens.

While, speaking to Citizen No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper in an exclusive interview on Tuesday, the Acting Chief Inspector of Police in Mundri West County, Colonel Phelegon Fraser stated that, the security situation is under full control and the main culprit behind the incident has been arrested.

However, he further said that the police and security organs will continue to provide full protection of citizens with their properties.

Colonel Phelegon also revealed that an incident happened at Mundri Central Market on Sunday night. He says the incident came after criminals staged an attack on police station at the main market and according to him the incident resulted to the injury of one from the suspected criminals.

While, on her part, the Commissioner of Mundri West County, Zilipher Dawa warned the parents against associating with such criminals in the community that hinder development and service delivery to the citizen.

According to Dawa, those who are involved will face consequences in accordance with the Laws.
