Final verdict scheduled over Bishop’s shooting

High court Judge Alexander Subek has told the court that the verdict for the four accused has been scheduled for 15th April 2022 to know the final status of the accused.

Four accused are still waiting for their final status as two of the accused number five and six confessed before the court for the shooting stating that they pleaded guilty.

“The case has been adjourned for the 15th April 2022 for the day of judgment,” he said.

The lawyers from the prosecution and defense team in the bishop shooting have submitted their file for review before the high court judge Alexander Subek for a review of the document Friday 25th March 2022.

Christian Carlassare returned on the 18th March landing at Juba International Airport after almost a year of being away for treatment and healing to Kenya and Rome and later to Juba to take his position as the Bishop of Rumbek Catholic Diocese. Christian Carlassare was shot on the 26th April 2021 on both legs by two men who stormed his resident in Rumbek Diocese.

The consecration of the Christian Carlassare as Bishop of Rumbek Catholic Diocese happened on the 25th March 2022 as scheduled by the Nuncio for Kenya and South Sudan and the diocese of Wau.
