NBGs parliamentarians receive leadership training skills

Members of Parliament in Northern Bahr-El-Ghazal State Assembly have started a two-day training workshop on governance, leadership and the implementation of the Revitalized Peace Agreement.

The aim of the training was to build the capacity of the State Legislative Assembly Members for effective performance in their duties.

The opening fragment was attended by the Rt. Hon. Speaker, State Ministers, Head of UNMISS field office among other invited officials.

Addressing the parliamentarians during the opening session, the Governor of Northern Bahr-El-Ghazal State Tong Akeen Ngor appreciated UNMISS’ leadership for responding in a very short time on the request made to train the law makers in the state.

In addition, Governor Akeen Ngor appealed to the Lawmakers to promote teamwork spirit and cooperation towards building the new nation.

Some of the members who attended the training said that the initiative would help them to effectively and confidently disseminate the messages of peace and development across the state.

Other members also expressed readiness to work closely with the executive in order to fairly deliver the needed community services.

The two-day workshop was supported by the United Nations Mission of South Sudan in collaboration with the state leadership.
