Your Excellencies,
President of Republic of South Sudan
First Vice President
Vice Presidents
For God’s sake, reconcile the nation as leaders, you remained tight-lipped about the major current polarized political climate and “anarchy” in some parts of the country as this sordid drama plays out and as principal parties to the R-ARCSS you seem to have little care for the actual needs of the people.
First and foremost, as our political leaders, you seem oblivious to the fact that severe economic challenges are wreaking untold misery on our citizens and threatening Eastern Africa drought crisis that is likely to pile on even more economic pain than what is already expected in the months ahead.
The immensity of the challenges facing the people of South Sudan at the moment ought to have had a sobering effect on any party hoping to take responsibility for them in the illusive upcoming elections.
One would have expected that the importance of R-ARCSS to kin and Country being preached from the pulpit every day would by now have translated to tangible measures to serve the people, even if at the Expense of political capital here and there.
Sadly, our parties’ obsession with seizing or keeping their political Interest at tenet betrays a lack of ability to lead during a crisis.
Commonality of purpose may now be too much to hope for in a nation that has become so bitterly polarized by political affiliations that It would rather watch herself burn than make any attempt to unify for the common good. One hopes that a time may not be visited on this country when the political leadership belatedly realizes that its failure to build bridges cost the people of South Sudan dearly. For now, it is a pity that this is the leadership we have to settle for in these tumultuous times.
It may be that any tough decisions that will be taken regarding the Economic crisis in the country will be shared after the sign-off of RTGoNU and that parties to R-ARCSS will keep their cards close to their chests till general elections.
The spiralling economic crisis, herders and farmers’ crisis and Dinka Ngok and Twic on-going conflict were the major issues that should come under discussion for any responsible government of the people for the people by the people. This is a coalition government of revitalized peace agreement and any decision will be a shared responsibility by the coalition partners and should be shared with the citizens as well.
Like every other citizen, I wish the President and the entire leadership of RTGoNU and all who will labour with him to cater for Interest of peace and prosperity for all citizens.
Progress toward implementation of revitalized peace agreement is persistently threatened by the conflict now engulfing the country in all different fronts and there would be zero tolerance for those who “subverted” the R- ARCSS.
South Sudan is like a baby contested between two women in the Bible, of which the newcomers, especially those who joined SPLM lately proposed it to be cut into two parts while the old party guards protested the suggestion and call for a baby to remains intact but worst matter is; our baby is threaten by the acute hunger.
We face a misplaced ideology that brought by some individuals, whom I believe to be purveyors and the danger these individuals pose upon the SPLM leadership promises to be of indefinite duration.
To meet it successfully, there is called for, not so much the emotional and transitory sacrifices of crisis, but rather those which enable us to carry forward steadily, surely, and without complaint the burdens of a prolonged and complex struggle with liberty the stake.
At personal level as elder and senior citizen of Republic of South Sudan, I am hereby calling upon the parties to Revitalized Peace Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan to stop ongoing conflict between pastoralists of Jonglei state and farmers of Magwi County, Eastern Equatoria state as well as ongoing disputes between Dinka Ngok and Dinka Twic community in Bahr El Ghazal region.
In recent days, the dollar’s upward trajectory to the ongoing economic crisis in the country, particularly melting foreign exchange reserves and political uncertainty is uncalled for.
The political parties to the revitalized peace agreement should together devise a “charter of economy” to stabilized South Sudanese Pounds my noble quest for strong much-needed mutual relations among all parties to the revitalized peace agreement for peace, love and tranquillity to prevail in the country aftermath formation of RTGoNU is a begging question for ultimate answers.
This is a momentous movement of which the leadership of RTGoNU must seek a common ground for meaningful reforms through internal dialogue and constructive engagement with all South Sudanese stakeholders.
We have a very grave responsibility lies on our shoulders as citizens of this country and we were thinking that the revitalized peace agreement will explore all possible avenues for peace and tranquillity to reign supreme but insecurity seem to persist and keeping country in abysmal South Sudan is in a state of shock these days, but beyond this country’s borders, the world is also in great turmoil and the country leadership should address matters beforehand with absolute political will and determination.
These serious economic challenges, mounting pressure on RTGoNU and lack of harmony among the major coalition parties are making it apparent every passing day that no homework was done for R-ARCSS in the post political scenario, which has landed the RTGoNU in the dire straits it finds itself in today.
Your Excellencies
History recorded cannot and will never be denies or erases. Our memories as South Sudanese are still fresh on those who stabbed the movement behind during the war of liberation struggle but they should not lock their doors and not take advice and discuss with citizens on how the country can be taken out of these multiple crises as soon as possible.
Let us rethink our ways of handling persistence crises in our country and ask ourselves where we could expect the RTGoNU to get resources from and fund major reforms that needed to put a country in trajectory right path.
The RTGoNU, people thought as tower of hope but it is now turn as tower of despair and become a system of dreadful fear and hate among South Sudanese citizens.
Nevertheless, the people need you more then you needed them to realize peace, progress and prosperity for them all.
Our people expect their President and Vice Presidents to find essential agreement on issues of great moment, especially absolute reforms as penned by the R-ARCSS, which will better shape the future of the country.
Dear President, for just reminder; once when you met with Prophet Bashiri, the man of God asked you what prayers request you would like to asked from God. You told him to pray for change of South Sudanese hearts to learn how to compose differences, not with arms, but with and decent purpose of mutual understanding and love.
May your highest leadership take this message as people’s message and indeed from your heart to find a speedy political solution to the crisis that keep country at bay may Peace be upon Republic of South Sudan
Thanks
