The Commissioner of Juba County this week presided over an inauguration ceremony for a newly established headquarters at Luri-Rombur Payam of Central Equatoria as a mechanism to extend the town and services closer to the people.
This expansion came following accomplishment of the headquarters after a long anticipated interval of time according to the strategies of the County’s leadership.
The function was attended by a number of government dignitaries including ministers at the state level, the Mayor of Juba City, Michael Lado Allah-Jabu plus his Deputy Thiik Thiik, security chiefs among many others.
The opening of the headquarters recognised the Governor of Central Equatoria State Emmanuel Adil as the patron of the event who availed the building before the authorities of the County in a bid to bolster the government’s strategic direction of taking towns closer to its people for effective service delivery.
Speaking during the event, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, the governor for Central Equatoria State asserted that the occasion marked a fulfilment of one of the plans the government had put earlier to establish an office near people living distant from the town.
He said that the offices were constructed as dividends of peace to the locals through the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit as he steered the County to the full path of sustainable peace and development.
Furthermore, Adil cautioned traditional leaders as well as the local administration in the County to refrain from indulging themselves into politics and engage more on customary and administrative duties which lie in the areas of their jurisdiction.
“This occasion for the opening of the headquarters came as a dividend of peace that came through efforts made by the State government supported by Salva Kiir Mayardit. This building shall play a greater role to reach services to the people who cover long distances to the town. Our aim is to ensure extension of town and services closer to the people. Since Juba is becoming larger, we also need to extend offices closer to the people such that people living far could be employed within. Based on our strategies, we need to ensure that our offices reach our people. I need us to help our President towards his support to the people of South Sudan,” Adil said.
On his part, the commissioner of Juba County Charles Joseph Wani lauded the leadership of Governor Adil for his directives and support which gradually culminated into the realisation of the achievement and urged the locals to rally behind the leadership of the for positive realisation of more transformative initiatives.
“I would like to appreciate the leadership of Emmanuel Adil for having given positive directives for the achievement of this golden initiative. If it was not through his gradual directives that culminated into the realisation of such a building, we wouldn’t have reached to this level. I urge you the locals to stand for Emmanuel Adil’s leadership to bring for us more development,” he said.
Furthermore, Commissioner Charles reiterated that the office headquarters shall be used as a scope for running the activities of the County to simplify covering adventures.
He added that the locals should work in harmony towards developing the County to attain quicker development.
“One thing I would like to make you aware of is the unity among yourselves in transforming the County into a better place for economic and commercial services to improve your standards of living,” Charles added.
