Mundri East Commissioner demands immediate release of 14 years’ school girl

The Commissioner of Mundri East County Margret is demanding for the release of a 14 years old teenage school girl from police custody after she was taken in on the account of her on-the-run father.

Commissioner Fouzia told No. 1 Citizen Daily Newspaper on Friday that she discovered that the 14-year old school girl, was being held by police over the case of her father and the elder brother who were arrested in early December.

 She described the girl as being innocent and her unlawful detention was against her child rights being a teenager under the age of 18 years and detent having nothing to do with what happened.

” If they told me clearly yesterday that girl is school girl, I will take immediate action for release of the girl from the Custody but they didn’t put me in clear view about the girl but I will call police to free the girl” Margaret Said. 

 She furthermore urged the police and area Chief to look for the two victim not that vulnerable girl, while calling on all security organs not arrest a person under age who are not responsible for the case in question. 

Meanwhile, the officer in- Charge of Crime Lui Nathania Baya said the girl was arrested by the Soliders belonging to SSPDF and brought to police custody after her father was arrested early December 2021 and escaped from police station.

The father was over a fighting that allegedly happened between his elderly son and Soldier belonging to SSPDF that left the soldier’s eyes damaged in the action.
