Youth lauds Mercy Corps for responding to their concerns

The youths from Kadiba, Mundri East County of Western Equatoria State have lauded Mercy Corps organization for quickly responding to their request and provide vocational and livelihood training.

Last week, youth leader in the area raised youths’ concern and called for actualization of a delayed project which was initiated by the organization to train youth in tailoring and carpentry.

Speaking to No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper in a telephone interview from Kediba on Friday, Mundri East County’s youth leader Mr. Elianna Zabi said the youth were happy and appreciated Mercy Corps for their quick response and follow-up on training opportunities which they promised earlier.

“We the youth are active and competent of activities that’s why once you promise something it has to be in place as its,” he stated.

The youth leader also noted that the materials that they were lacking before have been delivered to them.

He said the presence of equipment have restored hopes among youths as they have gained knowledge in vocational fields.

Meanwhile, Mr. Elianna Zabi appealed to NGOs who are operating in Mundri East County to render good service to the communities, saying that youths were ready to corporate all humanitarian agencies in the area.    

However, Mercy Crop Building officer Silivano Tata noted the delay of the program saying they delayed due to logistics problem, nevertheless he said they were able to provide all the materials.

Mercy Corps is an international organization operating in various locations in South Sudan to assistant the communities with different activities.
