NBGS: Authorities launch back to school campaign

Authorities in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State have launched a back-to-school campaign yesterday.

The State ministry of general education and instruction initiated the program in partnership with UNICIEF and other stakeholders under, “My Teacher, My Hero”.

Speaking in the event, the state Minister of General Education and Instruction Santino Bol Akok said the learning campaign was first started in Aweil South County on date 10th of June 2022.

He said that the program will cover all the five Counties of NBGs plus Aweil Municipality with the purpose of mobilizing the children and adults to join the schools for learning.

In his remarks during the visit to Aweil North County on 16th of June 2022, the state minister commended County Commissioner Victorino Ken Magiir, the County Education staff and the learners for their good corporation.

Besides, Minister appreciated the National Minister of General Education and Instruction Awut Deng Achuil for her tremendous support to the State Ministry of General Education and Instruction.

He also applauded education partners in the State such as UNICIEF and other Organizations which are tirelessly working to support the educational activities in many aspects within the State.

Furthermore, the Minister has also given a special thanks and appreciation to State Government for improving the educational system in the State,

The Minister told people of Aweil North County that government has recruited more than one hundred qualified teaching staff of various fields this year with the monthly salary of not less than 60,000 SSP.

However, Bol Akok urged parents to take their children to schools for learning and encouraged the learners to maintain the spirit of learning such that they become future leaders, doctors, teachers, engineers among other professionals.

The official also urged teachers in the County to render their services to the learners and encourage them to continue creating good relationship with the parents to boost the spirit of “Back to learning mobilization in the state”.

The Minister Bol has assured the parents and the teachers that his office will also work hard to create a conducive learning environment to encourage parents take their children to school.

Lastly, the state minister has commended his great team at the ministry for their teamwork and cooperation.

He has encouraged them to continue working for the interests of the people of NBGs in general.
