Yei Catholic Bishop arrive Mundri to celebrate of St. Peter day

The recently consecrated Bishop of the Catholic Diocese Yei has visited Mundri to celebrate St. Peter day with fellow Christian’s in Mundri West County at St. Peter Parish under the Catholic Diocese of Yei.

Speaking to No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper upon his arrival at Mundri airstrip on Saturday His Holiness Father Alex Lodiong Sakor said he was privileged to take first visit to Mundri after being installed as bishop of Catholic Diocese of Yei this year.  

“I know the Christians in St. Peter Parish far from the Diocese but we acknowledge that it’s important to celebrate the day together and I promised to work hand in hand with St. Peter Parish to develop and I will be here in Mundri for five days” bishop Lodoing said.

Bishop Alex Lodiong was accompanied on his mission to Mundri by three high delegates from Yei Catholic Diocese of Central Equatoria State.

Meanwhile, the choir ministry leader at St. Peter Parish Catholic Church in Mundri, July Peter Bagasi welcomed with excitement and happiness the first visit of Bishop Alex Lodiong Sakor.

He said since the time of conflict many of the believers were scattered and others perished.

“We believe the coming of Bishop Alex is very Great to take first visit to St. Peter Parish I call upon every believer to turn up to receive blessing from his lordship Alex Lodiong” she said.

For his part, Repent Juma a church member at St. Peter Parish said “we appreciate the Bishop for taking Mundri Catholic parish as the first Priority and it has took quite long time to St. Peter Parish to be visited   by the Bishop”.

His holiness father Alex Lodoing Sakor was highly received by Mundri West County Commissioner Zilipha Dawa Justin and she called on every Christians to hold hands together to spread the word of God.
