A pastor has killled in Torit by unknown men at his resident in Hai InKash on Tuesday evening while taking rest in his compound.

Pastor Gideon Andrea was rushed to the hospital at 9:00 pm after the incident, and later succumbed to the bullet wounds at 6:00 am as he lost lots of blood.

Peter Sundar, the pastor in charge and the chairperson of Presbyterian Church in Eastern Equatoria who confirmed the heinous incident said a young lady who lived with the late had seen the armed men and call-out to the pastor when one man opened fire at him.

“The young girl shouted,” Yabba, there are people coming with a gun towards you, run inside your house,” “when am fired at him,” he said.

Peter condemned the act, saying it is an evil act against the church and the community.

“My South Sudanese people, please respect yourself and the church. If these people die, it will all be gone because they have nothing to lose but you, who will lead you on your way when you are finishing the people,” he said.

Peter termed the incident as losing ways to the future, as those who would preach are being killed.

Gideon Andrea started leaving in Torit since 1967 in his early age, when he was working at a timber saw until his death.
